About the event

High Step Society’s DJ/Producer Nara Reicher and BNF Kombucha invite you to join us for the Basics of Beat Making. This is a 3 hour long introduction workshop for the production of electronic dance music using Ableton. We are excited to provide this great opportunity for beginners to start their journey into production and for those with some experience to pick up some new tricks. BNF Kombucha will also be provided!

Included in this class:

Introduction to Ableton ~ Beat Making ~ Midi ~ Sampling ~ Synths

Effects ~ Automation ~ Basic Mixdowns

Instructor Nara Reicher - Nara has been producing electronic music for 10 years and has spent the last four years producing primarily bass music. He is one of the founding members of the electronic jazz group High Step Society and performs with them on a regular basis. He also is half of the West Coast bass duo BedroomTrax.

Requirements - Everyone will need a laptop, headphones, and a copy of Ableton Live. Below is a link to purchase Ableton or download the free trial. Note: If you download the trial, you will not be able to save any of your projects so we recommend buying the Ableton intro version. We will be providing a custom sample pack at the beginning for all students to use during the workshop and a syllabus that covers everything in the lesson.
